Workshops

These workshops cover a variety of themes, but all have the same purpose – to raise an awareness of the wisdom of the ancestors, and discover how we can tap into this ancient wisdom in order to help heal modern dis-ease on many levels.

Held in the heart of the beautiful and magical Sussex downs, the aim is to re-connect with the spirit of Nature and of your true self.

Costs vary with each workshop.

DOWSING FOR NATURE SPIRITS

How do you feel when you spend time walking or sitting in a beautiful landscape? In forests? By the sea? In a wildflower meadow? Do you feel peaceful? Relaxed? At one with the rest of Nature?

Have you ever wondered why that is?

In ths unique one-day workshop we will be inspired by the Japanese system of Shinrin Yoku – forest bathing, which is a form of mindfulness of environment. We will expand our senses to connect to the spirit of place, and to the sentient beings which inhabit that space.

We will be using pendulums, dowsing rods and our hands to feel the energies of trees, plants and water, developing a deeper understanding of our mutual spiritual affiliation.

Dowsing rods will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own pendulums, and/or dowsing rods.

Thursday 5th October 2017 10am – 4pm

PLANT SPIRIT JOURNEY

Some of you may have sought the advice of a medical herbalist. Perhaps allopathic medicine was too harsh for you, or the results of treatment was unsatisfactory.

A medical herbalist will take a thorough, in-depth record of your personal history, often going back to your childhodd, in order to prescribe suitable herbs and treatment.

In this workshop we will be exploring our connection to the world of plants at a deeper, spiritual level. We will be using the method of shamanic-inspired journeying in a safe and confidential environment to meet the spirit and energies of indigenous plants, recording the results in a personal journal.

No experience is necessary. All you need is a pen/pencil, journal, blanket and a scarf or eyemask to block out the light whilst journeying.

The former part of this workshop will be outdoors, so please bring sensible shoes and jacket/jumper.

Dancing with your Darkness Tuesday 31st October

TAROT WORKSHOP
The Fool’s Journey

During this one day workshop we will be exploring the journey of the Fool as she/he travels through the Major Arcana (Trump cards) of the Tarot, meeting the characters and archetypes which form the basis of all card readings.

As we journey through life we meet challenges and trials which can help us grow and learn if we choose to take them on.
The archetypical Hero’s journey is the subject of many legends, fairy stories, books and films. Think of The Hobbit, the Odyssey, Wizard of Oz, Star Wars, the myths and legends of every ancient culture. These tales can inspire us, giving us strength to take a leap of faith in our own life.

The Fool’s Journey through the Major Arcana of the Tarot is one such tale. Walking beside the Fool we become her/his companion, not an onlooker, therefore it becomes our journey too.

Please bring paper and pencils, and a curious mind. We will be working with the original Rider-Waite and Universal Waite cards. Please feel free to bring your own pack if you have one.

I look forward to sharing the journey with you.

Tuesday 21st November 10am – 5pm

TAROT TRIBES
A Dance of Thrones

In this second of two workshops on the Tarot we will be working with the Minor Arcana, looking at their connection to the elements, aastrology, the cardinal directions, the wheel of Nature and of life.

We will explore the personalities of the kings, queens, knights/princes, pages/princesses who head each of the four suits. Many Tarot students have a problem connecting with the court cards of the Minor Arcana when giving readings. These sixteen royal characters can appear both enigmatic and elusive. As we deepen our relationship with each individual we will begin to recognise characteristics within ourselves, our friends, family and those who challenge us.

Cards will be provided, although if you have a favourite pack you like to work with please feel free to bring it along.
This workshop is open to anyone with an interest in Tarot. Attendance of the previous workshop – The Fool’s Journey – is not obligatory.

Please wear comfortable clothing, slippers or socks.

Confirmation of your place on the workshop on receipt of payment. No refunds will be given.
